FIRST AID TRAINING

FIRST AID

P.P.E.’s Standard First Aid (A, C & AED) training is a Red Cross Certified and WSIB approved training course. Our 2-day blended course includes one day of theory and one day of practical training for both life-threatening and non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses. We also offer a 1-day refresher course for those that are familiar with and have previously achieved a pass with a Red Cross Certified training program. These are the most common First Aid & CPR training programs that meet both provincial and workplace regulations. Upon successful completion of the course, a 3-year certificate is issued.

In Ontario, all workplaces and work parties with five or more employees are required to have at least one worker on site at all times who has a valid First Aid certificate from a WSIB-approved training organization. First Aid requirements are outlined in Regulation 1101, made under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA). This regulation summarizes the type of certificate, as well as the First Aid supplies required by an employer based on the number of employees.

P.P.E.’s hands-on training component of this course uses a step-by-step method of learning that improves the learner’s retention of skills and enhances their confidence level and ability to respond in an actual emergency. Rest assured that our learners will be able to effectively take charge and use their skills should an emergency situation arise.
