Accident / Incident Investigation

½-day course


Ideal for 5 or more employees; training for non-certified JHSC members and H&S members

Participants will become better investigators and interviewers, and will be given tools for better, legally required, reports. A proper investigation helps to measure the effectiveness of your company’s H&S program, reveal hazards that were not identified during workplace inspections, examine actual events, and reveal potential trends.

Aerial Lifts (Boom & Scissor)

CSA-guided training to help meet applicable regulatory requirements for lifts.


CSA standards require only a qualified person who has been trained can inspect and operate an aerial platform.

1-day course

3-year Aerial Lift certificate is issued upon successful completion.

This course includes a hands-on practical evaluation in addition to the in-class training. The training focuses on safe operation of self-propelled elevated work platforms and self-propelled boom supported elevated platforms. This includes the recognition and avoidance of hazards associated with the operation of an Aerial Work Platform, hazard identification Aerial lift devices and operating controls, preoperational checks for Aerial lift device, platform positioning plus park position, and more.

CH-02 - PROPANE

TSSA-Accredited Training Program


MANDATORY for any company that uses propane when handling torches and heaters on work Ontario construction sites (all trades such as electricians, etc.), and those handling propane cylinders for common equipment with input of less than 400,000 Btu/h (forklift operators, mobile food servers, etc.)


Ontario Regulation 211, 215 regarding Propane Storage and Handling, Training. Also, Construction Regulation 213, and CSA Standard B149.2


Full course – 1-day (6 hours)

Refresher course – ½-day 


In this course participants have the following learning objectives, and will leave understanding:

  • Hazards and properties of propane
  • Critical legislation and safe work practices with propane handling on construction sites, namely, related to the use of;
     
  • Construction heaters with an input of less than 400,000 Btu/h
  • Liquid propane torches
  • Connection / disconnection of propane cylinders (common to some rough terrain 
     vehicles)
  • Connection, activation, and disconnection of propane specific to construction heaters


Participants will have practical training and be able to demonstrate:


  • How to determine ventilation that is required for an enclosed space when using a propane heater
  • Proper methods on handling a propane cylinder (i.e. size being a consideration)
  • Considerations when to / how to manifold cylinders
  • How to connect, light, shut down a heater and torch
  • How to change a cylinder with liquid cylinder valve”

Confined Space

CSA-guided course to help achieve Regulation 632/05 compliance.


Offered as a ½-day awareness (theory only) or a full 1-day practical course. The full course includes simulations and equipment use.


Participants are able to practice vertical confined space rescue, as well as perform atmosphere testing and setting up confined space rescue equipment.


By the end of this course, participants will be able to:


  • Define a confined space
  • Outline the elements of a confined space program
  • Hazard Assessment, Entry Plan, and Entry Permit
  • Identify hazards, controls, and rescue requirements

CSA-guided training to help meet applicable regulatory requirements for LOTO

½ - day course

For all maintenance workers and workers to be informed on the dangers and need for proper LOTO procedures while performing safe, preventative maintenance and unexpected repairs.

This course is an instructor-led and hands-on training that provides an overview of basic knowledge of LOTO concepts. Content includes identifying which energies require LOTO when alternative or other control methods need to be used to control hazardous energy, as well as step by step procedure to lockout machinery or equipment.
